One-Month Hiatus

I need to sort out certain things in my life. I'm practically a mess right now. Let's just say I'm in a point of a nerve-wracking transition. (No, I'm not turning into a woman.)

For the next one month, the Internet will only be for checking e-mail and some Y!M chats on the side.

I'll be back on November 19, 2007. Note to self: Keep trying!

Dog-eat-dog

When the pickings are slim, you settle for whatever/whoever is dangling in front of you. Case in point: UP CE, where the girls (and the girls at heart) are the vultures and the occasional passably (take note: "so-so") cute guy is the carcass.

Whose party is on the losing end? Well, that depends on your outlook. Or sexual preference tolerance.

HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2007-08

HSBC YEA 07-08 Official Site

OMG, I'm going to join this contest, and I really, really would want to win!

Calling on Aji and Levs. This can be our ticket to fame and financial independence! (Weh?)
---
I was mistaken. CE's participation in the BAC OrgPres is only the batch project of the CE apps, it won't take the place of the Talent Night. And guess what, I'm one of the judges for tomorrow night. Only fitting for a SPADHOC Head of more than two years. (Feelingera!) Anyway, as if that bit of information holds any significance in your lives (much like the succeeding narrative).

The cutest guy (CG) in our dormitory/boarding house talked to me for the first time, finally, yihee!

I just arrived home and went straight for my night bath. So I first proceeded to brush my teeth at the communal sink. I hung my toiletries container on the doorknob of the nearest bathroom. Then, I see from the mirror that CG was behind me about to enter "my bathroom". He hesitated the second he saw my toiletries.

CG: Ito ba ang gagamitin mong banyo?
Me: Um, oo.
CG: Can I join?

CG then turned his back and entered the adjacent bathroom.

Walang kakwenta-kwentang kwento.

Let's face reality. None of us would end up with somebody as beautiful as these men are. (Nakakaiyak!) Kaya let's say goodbye to love na lang. Or copulate with your future spouses and hope that chance be kind enough to endow your future imps with sex appeal at the least. For the preservation of the human race! (Shet, ba't napunta ako dun?)

BA 173 Sem Ender

The only reason why I took up BA 173 (Consumer Behavior) this sem was because I wanted to see Ma'am Joy Guevarra's house. (That's how shallow I can get.) Every sem, she invites her students to her residence in La Vista (Loyola Heights area) and holds a dinner party. Yun yun eh.

From the stories of her past students, her house might as well be a mansion, comparable in size with the UP School of Economics. (Whose eyes wouldn't widen?) Anyway, what stuck to me from what I've heard was the presence of a fountain inside the toilet room. Sosyal.

Last Friday was the big night. My groupmates weren't attending so I texted Ma'am if I could bring proxies. (That's how thick I can get.) Good thing Ma'am affirmed because I've no friends in her class. Haha. So the proxies were Gen, Gil, and Levs, collectively known as PnG (Pataygutom na Gatecrashers).

Because of our cab search struggle, we arrived at the house late and starving. Fortunately, there was still plenty of food and dessert. The house was big, but the SE comparison was a bit exaggerated. Ma'am's house was way bigger! Just kidding. And the toilet room fountain? Well, shameless as we were, we held a photoshoot in there. Haha. Kadire.

Pictures coming up...

I Need Gamot

I feel so alone. I feel so empty. I feel so purposeless.

Is God (given that such being really exists) calling on me? To repent and to renounce my worldliness? (May ganyon?!)

I'm too neurotic to function.

I need gamot. Some turok here and there.

Someone, seduce sedate me. O kaya, date me na lang.

Beautiful Boys Make Me Suicidal

For three consecutive nights now, I would look up at the sky and see the moon in all her fullness. It seems as if she's insinuating I should be depressed (which really I've been feeling lately but somehow couldn't bring myself to admit). Behind her veil of clouds, she would peek, sniggering, mocking my state of mind.

Ohmagad, I'm going crayzeh!

My new crushee's sexuality is very dubious. His level of closeness with his male "friend" (also crush-able in his own right) intrigues people. It's starting to bother me, too, actually. Moreover, I discovered just today that he sports an earring on his left ear. Does that scream "GAAAY" or what?
---
I'll make it through the rainy days
I'll be the one who stands here longer than the rest
When my landscape changes, rearranges
I'll be stronger than I've ever been
No more stillness, more sunlight,
Everything's gonna be alright...

I should keep singing this song to myself. Ganbarou (whatever that means)!

Callente; Taegukgi

It's a bit late for this, but still I want to congratulate the whole of UP CE Entrepreneurial Ad Hoc Team for holding a successful and very fun-filled "Callente" last Friday. Most of the alumni I expected to see didn't show up (no surprise there really). Despite that, I enjoyed the the event what with the spectacle of the contests, the free-flowing food and drink, the occasional cuties I ogled at, and, of course, the CE company. I think I can speak in behalf of everyone else who attended.

Billiards and videoke until 3AM, then a sleepover at the former-dean Fabella's residence. :D
---

It's Korean Filmfest at the UP Film Institute. Last night, Rachel and I watched Taegukgi. War films usually don't appeal to me, but since the movie starred the ever so beautiful Won Bin, I gave it a try. Besides, it's the second highest grossing film in South Korean box office so it should be good.

Indeed, Taegukgi didn't disappoint. The violent and gory scenes (eg. limbs being blasted) would nauseate you, but I assure you would appreciate the movie as much as you enjoyed, say, Titanic. Oo, ganung lebel!

Near the ending, I could no longer hold back my tears. When I turned to snatch my hanky from my bag, I was amazed to see Rachel beside me crying uninhibitedly. Haha.

I think I'm starting to crush over someone again. Hard. This is dangerous. Every time this happens, I turn to self-destruct mode. :(

End It with Mini Stop's Fourteen-peso Giant Ice Cream

Because the SPADHOC no longer exists (at least for this sem) owing largely to me, the HR&D Committee of the UP CE has found an ingenious way to do away with the traditional Talent Night and instead assigned the BA Council's OrgPres to the CE applicants as their project.

The OrgPres was held at the Archi Audi tonight. There were six participating BA-based orgs including CE, which was to perform last.

It was already time for CE's turn on stage. I was seated clandestinely among the audience. The music started to play and as soon as the stage lights opened, I closed my eyes. I closed my eyes firmly, pretending to be asleep all throughout, avoiding any chance of cringing at the sight of the performance. Way to show org support, noh?

Well, what do you know, CE managed to place first runner-up while ABAM and JMA tied as champions. As Gen put it straightforwardly, CE's goal really was not to win but just to perform passably and evade emotional scars from embarassment.

One of the hosts for the night, by the way, was "Pamintang Tunay" herself, Jacqueline Mago, in her drag-queenish best. Thank goodness her hosting-mode voice was well-modulated this time lest the audience flee with bleeding eardrums.

On the Feasib Defense

That was it? (Yuchh, ang yabang.)

I was the last reporter for our group and I got cut. I was already speaking really, really fast and I got cut. Freaking time limit! It was just the management study anyway, but still, it was my time to shine. Haha. Kadiri.

The critique and the questions? *Yawns*

I'm so distracted I'm distracted from my usual distraction-- which is blogging. For the lack of a narrative, I present you with my latest music download.

When singing videoke at home was still a pastime activity for us, my mother never missed to sing to the tune of The Carpenters' songs. She would then proceed to resent my generation's taste for noisy, artificial-sounding music. I was really indifferent to her most loved band until Toni Gonzaga rendered "Superstar"
(lyrics) a cappella in an "Eat Bulaga" Lenten special. It was only then that I started to appreciate the music of The Carpenters.

During a period when rock and soul started to flourish, the music of the Carpenters was lambasted by critics saying it was too bubble-gum poppy. What probably was their saving grace was Karen Carpenter's voice. It had a remarkable hint of melancholy. The kind that was contagious and potent. Although seemingly trivial at first, it would slowly creep into the listener's subconscious making him turn to introspection and be haunted by his own emotional demons. The fact that Karen struggled with and died from anorexia makes her voice all the more romantic. A romantic tragedy, indeed.

If I had to pick my most favorite in their discography, I think it would have to be "A Song for You" (lyrics).

Last Saturday I was in Makati to attend a seminar on Australian migration. Why? Actually it was my mother who volunteered me. Her friend is the friend of the managing partner of the organizing agency. The registration fee was some thousand pesos, but for us it was free. So why waste the opportunity, right?

The speaker was an old Aussie. He is a veteran migration officer and one of those who drafted the policies followed today blah blah. He was mumbling the whole time so I couldn't catch half of what he was saying. Good thing I had a seatmate (Multimedia Arts graduate from CSB) who was pleasant to stare at. Haha. And of course, there was also the food. Almost all of the attendees were hardcore on migrating and brought their resumes for assessment. I was also a bit interested, but despite that, I was still unqualified because the jobs required work experience of at least three years, unless I plan to study in Australia.

The venue was in Salcedo Village, near Citi Tower so I got a chance to see again the building of my beloved, future employer. (Yucch, feelingera!) After the seminar we went straight to the shopping malls. While Egay was unleashing her torrential fury and drowning half of my province, I was apathetically sashaying in the corridors of Glorietta and Rustan's. And please tell me what the buzz with Crocs is. They look like they're made out of cheap plastic, in retarded colors and designs! Wala lang, consumer insight.

Depression Is a Much Abused Word

It could all be so simple, but you'd rather make it hard.

I'm sad. There are so many things that I should be sad about. Some of them are an outcome of my own misdoings or negligence. Some of them are just out of my control...

I can't stand whining. I can't stand it when people whine, and most definitely I hate it when I find myself whining. It is an unnecessary activity in facing difficulties. One should direct all energy instead in formulating tactics in tackling the problem, to minimize it, to eradicate it. Easier said than done, but that is the surest way of doing it. But what if one, more than being beyond help, is unwise behind his years?

(I'm distracted, excuse me. Be Bench eye-candies!)

And I'm back. But I lost my train of thought. Chuchu, train, chuchu.

The bottomline is, no matter how heavy it is, my burden is my burden. I should carry it with my own shoulders. With a gag in my mouth. (Welcome, dirty thoughts.)

If only life were an unending late-night bus ride. Despite the freezing temperature and dimmed lights, to the nostalgic classics playing on the radio, I sleep, care-free yet secure, alone yet content.

When I look far, far back, the future was forever shining.

Bus Ride, Glueboy, Prince Harry

Going home to the province, I boarded an ordinary (un-airconditioned) bus just for the heck of it. Actually, I overspent my allowance that's why. Hehe. But I really didn't mind. The bus was half-filled and the weather was chilly.

From Cubao, I sat closely beside the open-wide window. I displayed my freaking, fugly face for the sidewalks of EDSA to behold. By the time we exited Balintawak, my face was already covered with soot of Quezon City air (ang sosyal) and god knows what other particulate matter entered my asthmatic lungs.

Past the tollgate, against my frail frame the wind rushed violently. Like flag on a pole amidst a storm, the shirt that covered my body flapped vigorously. Like the force of an industrial-strength magnet, the wind repelled my repulsive self as if to say "You don't deserve me, you puny being!" To which I would insist," Rape me! Rape me!"

Sensing the hubbub happening behind him, the man seated in front me closed down our shared window. Instantly, silence fell and for thirty seconds I couldn't feel my face. Another thirty seconds, there was this high-pitching sound. Someone farted. I just pretended I didn't hear anything. Deadma. So did the other passengers who boarded that bus.
---
I spotted Elmer Glueboy walking by the Sunken Garden. He was wearing his usual black frames and skinny jeans. What has drawn a deep sigh out me though was his white, long-sleeved polo. It reminded me of Chiaki-senpai's. And I bet that just like Chiaki who's so confident of himself, Glueboy would say, "I'm so gorgeous I could sleep with myself!" Butting in, I would ask, "Can I join?"

What is Prince Harry hiding under those shorts?!

Hmm, to the left, to the left....

The cold makes me horny. >:P Sa inyo na si Prince William.

Leah Dizon

I'm confident that only Jazelli takes interest in my JPop entries while the rest of you just skip reading them. However, what I'm going to tell should intrigue you.

There is this upcoming female artist in the JPop music scene. She was born in 1986, and she has Filipino heritage! (Her father is Filipino-Chinese and her mother is French.)

Presenting Leah Dizon.

Kawaii!
---

"Softly" (first single)
---

"Koi Shiyou♪" (second single)
---

"L·O·V·E U" (third single)

She already has three singles under her belt the first of which was released early this year. She looks like Katrina Halili and a bit like Paris Hilton in her music videos. Haha. So far, she has one nice ballad and the rest are synth-filled, danceable tunes. Her music style is very poppy and teeny-bopper. I would have completely ignored her had she not been Filipino and a JPop artist. As of now, I can say I'm her fan. Hehe. Besides, Utada Hikaru is fond of Leah Dizon. :D

"America is the only country which had first created and used the atomic bombs, while banning other countries to possess the atomic bombs or been putting pressure on them to reduce the quantity on the other side (And they possess a lot of nuclear weapons themselves) . . . Also, lately they've been criticizing Japan's "Comfort women" issues in the past, but they have a history of slavery in the past as well, are they really in the position to talk about the things like that..."

That comes from Utada Hikaru herself. Just when you affirm your opinion that she truly is an artist with profound insights, she proceeds to insert her usual conversation with her stuffed bear, Kuma Chang. I'm not complaining. :D

Gulay, it rained so hard today. So hard that the raindrops beat against my umbrella mercilessly, creating tiny rips on it. The streets also gushed with rainwater that my sneakers and socks got soaked. As I walked back home I could feel the insides of my sneakers squish with every step I take. It felt oddly nice. Squishy, squishy. Hehe.

Litter Miss Philippines

A post (translated from Kapampangan) in our Y!Group by a friend I've known since elementary. He is a Comm Arts graduate from Ateneo.

"Currently I'm staying here in our house [in Angeles] because I already left my events job [in Makati]. My body could no longer handle looking haggard all the time. I'm now busy sprucing myself up so I can apply as a flight attendant so wish me luck everyone! I hope I'll look gorgeous within a few weeks' time, I'll harass my dermatologist!

"When I finally save up enough, that's when I'll focus a career in fashion. I don't know, maybe in fashion design, fashion journalism or modeling or fashion buying, fashion PR, whatever! Just thought I'd tell you..."

---
Good afternoon, everybody! I am Ivan Flores Rico, 20 years of age. I live in the city of Angeles... City!

I am taking up BS Business Administration in UP Diliman. I'm in my ninth trisemester and I expect to give birth graduate this October. (Yuck, delayed! So what?)

My ambition in life is to be a slave for the multinational corporations of the world. I also may put up my own business. That's if my need for achievement requires so and if I overcome my pathological sloth.

I used to believe that there is no God. I've already relented that atheistic persuasion, although I'm still not a fan of Christianity (or the Church to be exact).

There is a saying that goes, "If I am that and you are that and everything is that, then that is all there is."

I thank you. *Curtsies*

Update:

Alpha: shehetttt ivaneeee! winner ka na naman!!!

When it comes to love I may be a loser but not in life (though it's contestable).
Innocent Porn

I caught an episode of this late-night Christian program. Actually, my mom was the one watching the TV while I was in front of the computer. Anyway, their topic was the "oversexification" of the entertainment media. So they went about discussing things like pornography, its widespread accessibility, its bad effects, and so forth.

Then, as usual, they showed case-studies-slash-testimonials. One was that of a married man who claimed to have been addicted to porn magazines. I think it's still within the bounds of normalcy, though. Anyway, the program went on telling that, as a result, the man developed an affair with another woman, blah, blah, blah. Later on, the featured case focused on the extramarital affair itself and ended completely oblivious of the porn addiction part.

I was like, "WTF was that?!" I even asked my mom sarcastically, "O, ano namang koneksyon ng pagkakaadik niya sa bold sa pagkakaroon niya ng kerida?" My mom just shrugged, then laughed. I mean, for chrissake logic's sake, they could have explained the psychological connection of the affair with pornography, but no! They didn't even pretend to attempt, those self-righteous idiots!

Back in high school, in Creative English class, I made a research paper on sexual deviation. One of my references, a book on abnormal psychology, cited the "unadulterated" findings of the Meese Commission (a copy of its report can be found in the UP MainLib) under Ronald Reagan's term regarding exposure to erotica and how it correlated to sexual crimes.

HP7 Highlights (Part I)

"Dinner, Nagini."

The first chapter described an unconscious person hanging upside down in midair as if bound by and tied to the ceiling with an invisible rope. At the end of the chapter, Voldemort killed her with a curse, and she dropped dead on the table down below her. Voldemort then prompted his humongous snake Nagini for its meal, the lifeless Charity Burbage.

Can you stand imagining that snake unhinging its jaws to limit and swallowing whole its victim without you wincing at the least? Its body bulging with the silhouette of that of a full-grown human. Creepy!

"He dug with a kind of fury, relishing the manual work, glorying in the non-magic of it, for every drop of his sweat and every blister felt like a gift to the elf who had saved their lives."

For me, Dobby's death was the saddest in the book. Reading this, especially the parts where he was actually dying in Harry's arms and when Harry was etching the words on the elf's grave stone, I almost cried with my bloodshot eyes (caused by the strain of not blinking enough).
---
"When my sister was six years old, she was attacked, by three Muggle boys... It destroyed her, what they did: She was never right again."

Albus Dumbledore's brother Aberorth recounted what truly happened to their younger sister Ariana.

I searched Google for something that would say explicitly how she was "attacked". I found nothing official, but it didn't surprise me that people speculate as I do that Ariana may have been sexually assaulted (raped, to put it more bluntly) by three Muggle boys.

One, Two, Three, Four, Fi..., Seven.

You think hearing which character dies in every Harry Potter release diminishes the utility (in layman's term, spoils the fun) before you even get to read the books on your own. What could be more anti-climactic, you ask. Let me tell you, I read books 1, 2, 3, 4; dabbled in the beginning of 5; skipped the entirety of 6; and finished 7 in PDF format in less than a week after the physical books started selling.

I don't know if I should feel proud or stupid. Proud because I finished reading 7 before most of those who acquired the hardbound copy did or will do. And stupid because I acted impulsively, carried away by the thrill of a lead of a mere day of laying eyes on the text over anybody else. (Credit to Jay for the PDF download link.)

Now, am I at the point of no return? Did I cross the line just as Sirius Black himself crossed the veil? If I go through 5 and 6, will I still be able to enjoy reading them, to appreciate the revelations they would present in the order intended by the author? Bakit ba ang drama ko? Titigil na nga e.

I love Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! The more sophisticated fiction readers out there would proclaim the same, I believe. Every tidbit of truth that unfolded outstood the one before it. HP7 is a very juicy gossip session in black and white. (Not exactly a comparison that would flatter JK Rowling most, but you know what I mean. Hehe.)

To be continued...

Hikki Fanboy Moment

Two weeks ago I wrote a fan mail to Utada Hikaru sent through her website.

I asked if she would have made "Beautiful World" differently (or created another song altogether) had she known prior to her composition that it would be used as Rebuild of Evangelion's ending theme, not as opening. I also asked if she will be releasing an album this year.

Addressing her as "Utada-san," I introduced myself as an avid fan from the Philippines. And I have a strong feeling she posted the following (snippet) in response to my fan mail. Feelingero, bakit ba! :P

"I've probably written this before, but I must say it again! I cannot cease to be amazed by all the different places in the world I receive fan mail from! I really do read all my fan mail, and I wish I could write back to each of you, but since that's practically impossible, I will take this chance to say, Thank you!!!"

HP5 Movie Date

My movie date with Teacher Duna pushed through last Wednesday night at Eastwood. Thanks for the company and the treat!

There I was, sitting on the velvet couch in front of Cinema 2, waiting for Dona to come, when I caught sight of a couple that was about to enter Cinema 1. I stared at the girl's familiar face. Then I turned my sight to her beefy, head-shaven companion. Omaghad, it's Paolo Contis and Isabel Oli (sp?)! Star-struck? Not much, as there was nothing really striking about them.

Minutes after, Dona arrived and we proceeded to watching the movie. Fast forward to the end, she said it's the one she liked the most among the five HP movies. As for me, I read only the first few chapters of the book so I couldn't really compare it against the movie, which also I enjoyed greatly. As long as Daniel Radcliffe's in it, any discrepancy is welcome.
---
Daniel Radcliffe, why do you have to be so beautiful (and so filthy rich)? Never mind your stunted growth or your crooked teeth! I love you more than ever (especially now that you bared it all)! Huhu.

I see the pits of hopelessness and of low self-esteem ahead. Anybody care to join me jump off? You have to pick only one, of course.

Animefied Freud

"Beautiful World" will be the opening ending theme to the first (or all?) of four Rebuild of Evangelion movies. My heart skipped (in a good way) when I saw the single cover. For the Eva fan who knows the anime very well, Utada can be seen depicting the character Rei Ayanami in her (Rei's) quintessential pose.

The single will also include the 2007 mix of Utada's "Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)" (the Sinatra original) another version of which was used as ending theme to the original
"Neon Genesis Evangelion" series.

I guess the main reason why Utada was approached by the Eva party to produce the theme and why she consented just as easily is because she is a self-confessed Eva fan herself. She would even allude to or quote from the anime in her personal blog.

But why the hell did I trouble myself hyperlinking when you really don't give a damn? Only Jazelli and I do. Wenk.

Ang Pag-ibig, Parang Ice Cream, Natutunaw

Question of the Week

"Nainlove ka na ba? Nyak, yan ang million dollar question ko ahaha. Pero kung gusto mo ng mamisong question, ano favorite flavor mo ng ice cream? Hehe." - T. Duna

Answer: It's not so much "falling in love" as it was obsession. And in that sense (what sense?), I think I've gone gaga over some skunk three times in my lifetime. Each one of these obsessions started with physical attraction, ended at that. Needless to say, I spent my time stressing over the crush while its object, oblivious of my suffering or, worse, denying my very existence, went on with his daily dealings. Next thing I knew, I was wishing never to see the light of day again and growing zits in the process.

My favorite ice cream flavor is and forever will be chocolate. I hate, hate, hate ice cream with nuts, any kind of nuts. Makes me nuts!

Taller in More Ways: Radcliffe, Aytona, Aguilera

It's a date! HP5, Teacher Duna and I, July 17 (Wednesday), which mall cinema, still to be set. Come, let's join us! :P
---
Caught Mucho Bobito on "Walang Tulugan," singing Sugarfree's "Ipaglalaban Ko"(?). In furnace, midget boy can reach the high notes. And when he belts, his voice quality does not falter. It remains full and intact, not taking the falsetto way out.

Oh, I think I'm crushing on him again. Elmer Glue Boy and he have the same sullen/half-baked/heliophobic complexion. I like! *Barfs* Excuse me. Haha.

This Christina Aguilera superfanboy missed her Back to Basics concert. Because it was on a Friday night and it was raining and he had no one to accompany him and... he had no moolah to buy a ticket. Wenk.

And he heard from another superfanboy (who, unlike him, was able to see the concert) that the Christina, she fvcking rocked The Fort! Huhu.

Disenfranchised

Still looking for Harry Potter 5 movie date/s. Come on, people, invite me!
---
Setting: UP ABAM TransOrn (AppsOrn) at the UP Alumni Center

I was sitting there spaced out as is usual when I am alone. Indeed, I was figuratively on my own that time. I was surrounded by familiar faces and names, but the best that I had were mere acquaintances. I was thinking; one thought lead to another until it suddenly hit me that I miss the feeling of organizing an event, something that I would own and in which I really would get involved.

So I thought of UP CE's upcoming Acquaintance Party and played with the idea of helping prepare for it. I went as far as considering even the possibility of hosting it (because with anonymity comes confidence. I barely recognize the new faces in CE today much less the names of those faces, and I suppose that the same goes for them towards me.)

Now as I still ponder about it, I think my help would be needed the least. Kaya wag na lang.

On my way home, passing by Bahay ng Alumni, I was startled by the multitude of clad-in-black, jumping jologs that flocked the facade. Eek!

Wanted: Harry Potter 5 Movie Date

You can just text or e-mail me. I suggest that we watch it next, next week if not immediately next week. And because I'm a cheapskate, it would have to be in a movie house that would charge not more than 200 bucks per ticket (unless, of course, you would be willing to subsidize).

I'm desperate for a companion so please contact me. (If no one would bother to do so, there's BitTorent anyway. Eww, how pathetic!)

Third Movie in Three Days

I forgot to mention, Mich Dulce was in the Kamikaze screening last night, dressed in a cross between the 80s style and the Lolita look. And she's a few sizes smaller in person than on TV.
---
Just came from Eastwood and had a movie date with my buddies. Wenk. Watched Transformers with Charree and Diannee. Then we shared a puny pizza at Yellow Cab as if I didn't gobble up three burgers and ice cream at the CE AppsOrn at McDo Katips.

Now I just want to sleep and wait for sh*t to come out. Haha...haym so bored but am too sluggish to still watch Push on UP which my PE prof requires our class to do. She also assigned us to write a reaction paper. What will I write? "Nakita ko ang dati kong crush at nubwisit lang ako"? So to sleep and to sh*t it is. (Sh*t, sayang ang one hundred ko!)
Kamikaze Girls

Yay! One reader took pity and sent in her question for my pathetic pakulo. Her question goes... oh, wait, I stupidly wasn't able to save it. Anyway, my previous hate post intrigued her. Naturally, she wants to know to whom am I referring.

Answer: the *utch and the *utch's *itch. Get it? I'll just assume you do as I refuse to underestimate your gossip IQ. 0:)
---
It's the second day of the Japanese film fest in Cine Adarna (UP Film Center). Tonight we (Gen, Vigile, their friends, Levs, and I) watched Kamikaze Girls. Wala lang.

Trivia (which I know will interest only Jazelli): Kamikaze stars Anna Tsuchiya who sang opening and ending themes to the anime
"NANA", while Out of This World (the first movie we screened in the fest) stars Joe Odagiri who plays Ginko in the live-action movie adaptation of the anime "Mushishi". Wala lang ulit.

Stop Me!

Grabe, I'm appalled by your density! A black hole is nothing compared to you! No amount of sound reasoning would ever get through to your pigheadedness! You live in another universe with her and with your twisted rationalizations! Stop pestering me! Pvcha, subukan mong sumagot dito talagang gagawa na ako ng gulo sa buhay niyo! Leche!
Pakulo Still Ongoing

All right, no one's pansining* (a shoutout to tsarrycholei) my pakulo. Checked my account and there was only one new mail: a spam from Xtube.

My bet won! Bea is PBB Season 2's Big Winner! She earned it, she deserves it ("Mammy Bey, be hhhanest!") And the prizes, my gulay, she could already retire with those and skip her inevitable venture into showbiz.

As for Wendy bitch, I think I'm developing a soft spot for her again. Oh well, at least she's gorgeous and has a nice set of upper teeth (Observe it closely if ever she feigns wailing again.)

Pvtangna, Juday's on TV, singing, dancing, and doing sexy acts! *Fidgets*

Libre, Init, PBB, at Titi
.
Dia invited me to her post-birthday dinner treat at Glorietta. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to come (and text her about my not coming, hehe). Dia, if you're reading this, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for letting pass yet another opportunity at free food for myself. O, what a waste! Hehe.

It might be inappropriate to tell, but whoever said I'm good at appropriateness? Anyway, Dia asked me to inform Jac (yes, Jacqueline Lourdes Mago) that she also invites her to said dinner, to patch things up between them, etc. So inform Jac I did, however, she dismissed it as just another one of my pranks. Jaccy, don't you think it's much too late for April Fools'?

It's getting hotter by the day, and I think the temperature will continue to rise until its zenith in May. It's good to know that I will have been in the middle of my internship stint by then. Meaning, pretending to work one-third of each day inside the air-conditioned confines of CitiTower.

Until then, I have to suffer the icky, sticky (add to that, itchy) feeling the scorching heat causes. It's so disgusting it's frustrating! Waah! One would think that after the sun has set the heat would have subsided. But no, it's the exact opposite! It worsens until the wee hours of after-midnight. One of the cruel paradoxes of Mother Nature. (Huh?)

I'm not the only one complaining and posting about this in his blog, am I? It sure is much easier to bitch and whine. La lala lala...

I've been hooked on PBB Season 2, especially on the love teams that eventually have sprouted (e.g. Bruce-Wendy, Robert-Saicy). Kakilig!

Kian (the half-Persian guy) was evicted in the latest, um, eviction. I was praying that it was Bodie who got booted out instead. Yes, he may be good-looking (not my type), but god, he's sooo boooring. I rather would pick Nel over him any time of the day. Nel may be lacking in the, ahem, looks department, but everyone can see that his personality and humor more than compensate for that.

Anyway, I was able to catch the PBB telecast on Studio23 before lunch. The camera focused on Wendy ironing... ironing... ironing... and ironing. For fifteen minutes. In one angle. @_@ In fairness to Wendy (and I emphasize that I say this obectively that), she has a nice set of boobies. Hehe.

<3 is supposed to represent a heart, right? I realized it also resembles a dick. A shaftless dick at that.

Alpha said =3 looks more like the male organ. If mine is shaftless... no, let me rephrase that. If <3 is shaftless, then I say =3 is headless.

Both are lacking so I guess <=3 solves the issue. Haha. Please excuse me, the heat of summer (sunshine I miss you like nobody else) gets to my head (the one above).

Gusto Kong Magswimming!

It's 8:40PM, I just got up from my siesta. Now I'm feeling heavy and weak from thirst. Gulay, the air's so fvcking hot! Even if I turn on the electric fan full-blast, I'd only evaporate myself to ashes. Swallowing an entire fridge of cold water, so cold that it numbs the throat, offers only temporary relief because I'd be feeling icky-sticky soon after. I sweat easily, you see, even without physical exertion.

What should I do, what should I do? I'm forbidden to turn on the aircon, I'm too lazy to bathe much more go out of the house and float like a twig on chlorinated/urinated water. Today, I was supposed go swimming with relatives, but I decided to stay home alone. (What' new?) And now, I'm somehow regretting it. Waah!

My Day in the Citi

Yesterday had a rough start:

1.) I left the house for the bus station one hour later than I planned;

2.) I waited, contrary to what I anticipated since it's a midweek-day (which I now realize has no basis), for thirty minutes for a Cubao-destined bus;

3.) After boarding and being settled inside said bus (Farrah Naparan was my seatmate, by the way), what should have been only a ten-minute stop-over before the bus leaves the station, stretched to thirty minutes after which the conductor advised the passengers to transfer to another bus because the air-conditioning system had a glitch that would take another thirty minutes to repair;

4.) The second bus had no vacant seats, but I couldn't afford to wait much longer so I had to put up sitting along the aisle.

(As if you give a shit to the shitty shit, shit that shat on me.)

All was well after that except for the fact that I was ninety minutes late for my internship interview. Yay. Woohoo. As if I was under an asthmatic episode that I couldn't catch my breath, and my heart felt like it was being wrung like a piece of wet laundry. You could say I was on the verge of a stroke. Blah blah blah blah blah...

As it turned out, I was twenty three hours too early for my interview. La lala lala.

Yeah, I nailed the interview and I didn't even rely on the script I prepared. Haha. As if it was that difficult. Yeah, whatever. Nonetheless, I have been accepted the same day as a summer intern at Citbank, N.A., Makati *turns 360 degrees* City! I will be assigned at the HR Admin Unit of the Country Human Resource Group (CHRG) of the Corporate and Investment Bank, whatever that means. Haha. (Levs will also be assigned at the same unit.)

I pray to god that the other male intern in the unit will pass at least my aesthetic standards which are really not high so it's as good as having no standards at all. Desperado. I kid.

Straight from Another Smart-mouth's, um, Mouth

My mom and I had that talk. She ambushed me, and I just found myself dumbfounded, sitting petrified on the floor, staring blankly at the computer screen as we carried on that excruciating conversation. Then, while reading Fruits Basket, I came across the part where Hiro Sohma's Jyuunishi curse was lifted. Wasn't the timing perfect?

Sorry. Somehow I have very complicated feelings. To be honest, I would like to be happy about this. I feel anger, resentment, regret, repentance, and affection. All these things are in a pulpy mess.

Mundane Thursday

"Hala, sige! Lumayas kayong lahat at magsiksikan kayo sa Boracay! At huwag na kayong babalik!"

Parang sira. That's why I adore her.
---
Had that company not called and scheduled next week my interview for the summer internship I'm dying to land (Gen already got accepted; I hope Gil, Levs, and I, too), I wouldn't have something to look forward to until this Lenten blah-ness lasts. Ugh.

The holiday boredom is starting to creep in to me. Nothing's on TV (although I was able to catch the PBB 2 Housemates' recollection drama a while ago), no one's texting me, and no one's online. Everyone's gone out of town. Well, that is excluding me. I still have a stack of anime and manga CDs care of Jazel though so I think I'll be able to survive.

La lala lala...

The Inventor of "Ivanee"

Because "Ivanee" is slowly gaining widespread usage much to my amazement, the one who coined it insists that she be acknowledged publicly as, um, the one who coined it. The first one, to be precise because Kattee also did, but she came only in second.

Haha. There, I posted your picture. :P You have no right to complain because you never refused when I asked for your permission. Nyahaha. >:)

Got excited over this (found the link from T. Duna's blog) so I hurriedly signed up for an account. Too bad most of my username choices were already unavailable so I had to stick with "ivanfloresrico".
Sana Hindi Ko Na Makita Ulit Pagmumukha Mo. Ever.

A common friend told me you're doing well now. You've gradually straightened out your life, and it's nice to know that. I say this with utmost sincerity. I keep no more resentment towards you. As if you would care a bit knowing that (my saying "It's nice to hear you're doing well.") Even at the time I hurled myself at your feet and almost died choking on my pride, you never did. Never!

Split

Now looking back at all we've planned, we let so many dreams just slip through our hands. Why must we wait so long before we'll see how sad the answers to those questions can be?

Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?

Do you get what you're hoping for? When you look behind you there's no open door. What are you hoping for? Do you know...

Death to SPADHOC

The UP Circle of Entrepreneurs' Special Projects Ad Hoc, more popularly known as SPADHOC, has been totally eradicated, along with its soon-to-be-displaced, four-time head Ivan F. Rico.

Ahaha. Ahahaha. Ahahahaha.

Personality Quizzes from Blogthings

The second image appeals more to me, however the first one speaks more truth about myself. That's what I believe, at least. Tell me what you think.

I never really fancied much the color green before. That was until I joined The UP Circle of Entrepreneurs. Haha.

Go to Hell!

I'll lead the way.
It's the Last Week of Classes

And it doesn't feel like it. I wonder why.

I just noticed I've been crankier the past few days, although people may not have noticed because I've been keeping the crankiness all to myself. Withdrawal symptom? Maybe. Then again, I've been cranky since time immemorial. (I really am my father's son. Eww.)

P.S. It's funny how unconsciously I typed "mother" when clearly it was the word "father" I intended to put. Hmm. Must be the repressed anger. Anyway, that's more than enough information you need to know so I'll shut up now.

Inside a Dream

Because at times life (and living it) and fate can overwhelm you, and you are left to marvel at the high powers over the helpless, puny being that you are.
