End It with Mini Stop's Fourteen-peso Giant Ice Cream
Because the SPADHOC no longer exists (at least for this sem) owing largely to me, the HR&D Committee of the UP CE has found an ingenious way to do away with the traditional Talent Night and instead assigned the BA Council's OrgPres to the CE applicants as their project.
The OrgPres was held at the Archi Audi tonight. There were six participating BA-based orgs including CE, which was to perform last.
It was already time for CE's turn on stage. I was seated clandestinely among the audience. The music started to play and as soon as the stage lights opened, I closed my eyes. I closed my eyes firmly, pretending to be asleep all throughout, avoiding any chance of cringing at the sight of the performance. Way to show org support, noh?
Well, what do you know, CE managed to place first runner-up while ABAM and JMA tied as champions. As Gen put it straightforwardly, CE's goal really was not to win but just to perform passably and evade emotional scars from embarassment.
One of the hosts for the night, by the way, was "Pamintang Tunay" herself, Jacqueline Mago, in her drag-queenish best. Thank goodness her hosting-mode voice was well-modulated this time lest the audience flee with bleeding eardrums.
